I love this song Jez it woul be perfect for this week’s Song Lyric Sunday 💜💜💜
I saw Clapton in concert the tour this song was a hit. It was probably the drunkest concert I was ever at; my partner & I were both sober, although we had a few joints with us. But everyone else at the show were at least 3 sheets, holding each other up & not paying attention to Clapton, who played the entire concert with his back to the audience. When he played this song, the audience cheered throughout the entire song because it was a hit, which seemed really inappropriate, given the subject matter. Clapton was reviled in the the local reviews for having his back turned to the audience but given the condition & behavior of the crowd, I really can’t blame him.
