Merrydown

Merrydown
Form: Spenserian Sonnet

The moonlit glade where fairies dance tonight,
as pipes and harps deliver songs for all,
amid the pines that shine with starry light,
and birds shall sing of Merrydown's ball.
In summer's heat the waltzes beat will call,
from daisy heads that lie beneath the trees,
to bees that buzz the fairy ethereal,
and softest petals twirl upon the breeze.
Where elves and pixies jitterbug with ease,
and run around your toes without a care,
as gnomes have mischief to share and tease,
when caught by fairies wand, a magic dare.
The honeydew mead sets the world in trance,
and fairy folk will sing as footsteps dance
