‘Hope’ became one of the most successful election posters in the Western World. From his own initiative, Fairey created it after being inspired by Obama’s speech at the Democratic National Committee conference. Fairey was also protesting the Bush agenda and the Iraq War when he learned Obama was supporting free healthcare and environmental protection.
