Concupiscence

A Garret Poet

Concupiscence
Form: Sonnet

Ev'ry sensuous moment of desire
Each night they echo crashing thunder’s roar
I see her face concealed in flames of fire
My feelings rage transcending love’s rapport.
I dare not think the meanings any more,
Bedevilled dreams I long to just believe,
My heart is burning as never before,
As hunger churns where senses can deceive.
I question, tampered hearts ever retrieve
the love they need without a hand to clasp,
And find the freedom passion can achieve,
Perhaps such love lies far beyond my grasp.
To be as one with her, a wistful dream,
Still lost to chance, no hope shall dare redeem
