Morning Blue

Morning Blue
Form: Ivorian Sonnet 88

Watercolour blue skies of morning light
Cups of coffee after working the night
As the sunrises I am thinking you
A quiet moment before drifting sleep
While shades of love turning to azure blue
These are the times with you I miss the most
The coming home after a long night shift
As we shared coffee and hot buttered toast
And the strains of the night your kiss helped lift
On Sundays we would walk along the coast
Now sat here alone I can only weep
My nights dream of you and our love so true
You were my life and the most precious gift
For love to bestow on a morning bright

Chaos (The Creation) by Ivan Aivazovsky

Chaos (The Creation) by Ivan Aivazovsky

Chaos (The Creation)
1841
Romanticism
Oil on Canvas

Mawkish to the modern eye “Chaos (the Creation)” was painted when Aivazovsky was living in Rome after his studies at the Imperial Academy in St Petersburg, Pope Gregory XVI who had it hung in the Vatican despite its portrayal of a literal divine presence. Whether mischievously pandering to literal-minded taste or his own beliefs the painting was a blockbuster for an ambitious young artist.

Elphin and the Boy by JezzieG

Fishing lines were bare
Heart filled with despair
But a child found there
So it shall be

Elphin’s heart so sad
And what of the lad
This child needs a dad
So it shall be

Taliesin by name
His brow shines no shame
His wisdom acclaim
So it shall be

And he speaks this lad
No fish, don’t be sad
What is yours be glad
So it shall be

Blinded

Through The Cracked Window (Revisited)

There were times when nothing mattered
A time when the edge was only a dream
No one can explain how this could happen
Always trying not to take this too far now

Surely we have been made for another place
Where every sound is a symphony yet unheard
Temptation is falling and calling us home
Beyond the boundaries of the city lights

When that moment comes, who will be your help?
Heaving the last air of a world slipping away
Seeing colors we have never seen before
Voices in the dark call but no one listens

A sense of fun lightens the day
Reading memes while drinking tea
Mixing work with a little play

The blood bond wears no disguise
