Looking for Lost

Looking for Lost
Form: Free Verse
Theme: Lost
Subject: Closed Door

It’s where you left it
a clue to something
lost to the eye
like words lost on the tip of the tongue
nagging
echoes in vague memories of
what does it look like
and it will turn up when you least expect it
I close my eyes to
the acid tone of her voice
leaving me as dust
well, I won’t find it here
as I close the door

Example

I am Freedom by Jez Farmer

I am who I am, but I don’t know why
Rider on the path of life as it goes
A watcher of stars observing the sky
The day-dreamer taking another doze
A dying breath held in a silent sigh
Felt by so many yet nobody knows
Unconditional, unrequited; I am love

The flame beckoning romance to come by
To dance in the flames while burning the toes
For now or forever let time simply fly
For the time is mine as it comes and goes
The briefest glance held in forever’s cry
Where I will end, well, that nobody knows
Momentary, forever; I am love

I am that something money cannot buy
The sweet fragrance that lingers on the nose
Recalling the memory sent awry
As tears fall heavy amid the musk rose
I am eternal and always close by
The enlightenment found where darkness glows
Never-ending, infinite; I am love

I am the power that says you must fly
Be yourself, live your life, go where it goes
I have no limits which can so deny
I am freedom that runs in wild meadows
I am the confidence that dares to try
The dying ashes from which you arose
Identity, self-esteem; I am love

Queen’s English

Queen’s English
Form: Free Verse

I shall try to explain so you will understand
the usage of shall or will in English Grammar.
Both shall and will are auxiliary verbs
predominantly relating to the future.
Shall is used with the preceding nouns I or we;
I shall write a free verse poem and we shall read it;
as the case in point is apt, so to speak.
Now will relates to the nouns you, it, he, she and they;
it will rain tomorrow and he will walk her home;
she will kiss him goodnight and they will live happily ever after.
You will use grammar correctly, if you don't mind.
This is all very well unless one is from the US of A
where all nouns relate to will and shall hardly ever happens,
but as far as correct English as spoken by our Queen
I shall use both as correct in English Grammar.
I conclude with this thought
Shall I submit for your contest or shall I not?
If I do may I suggest a follow up
of how to use would, could and should

Cosmic Eyes Are Watching

I share my cup of Assam tea with Ivor today, well worthy of a second cup I think

Ivor.Plumber/Poet

Look above the ugly pylons

Away from that slimy Russian python

Beyond those strangling power lines

There is a luminous cosmic sign

Piercing our dark thunderous skies

Wearing an ancient peacetime disguise

In a temple full of untainted eyes

Anticipating the worlds next golden sunrise
