Falling Flower

A Garret Poet

Falling Flower
Form: Spenserian Sonnet

His voice caressed gently over my ear
Like an autumn breeze on a falling flower
And in a lover's kiss he drew me near
My hunger thus his to take and devour
In that moment all of mine became our
All of me; yes all of me is his to share
For we have discovered love's finest hour
When I hear him whisper the words 'I care'
Inside my heart leapt to take up the dare
To taste the pleasure that is his to give
For he alone can take and join me there
The fates declared who my soul belongs with
In just one kiss he set my eyes agleam
Desire and love combined within a dream
