Bocelli is an operatic tenor and multi-instrumentalist. Diagnosed with congenital glaucoma at 5 months old he became blind at 12 years old after a soccer accident. Bocelli rose to fame in 1994 winning the preliminary round of the 44th Sanremo Music Festival with the highest marks recorded in the newcomer’s section
