I’M shutting it out
TRYING to stop the noise
TO forget what used to be
SILENCE the old whispers
PAST memories recurring
ECHOES of pain
I’m trying to silence past echoes

An Aubade is a song or poem of any chosen form that celebrates the new day, or captures the natural world as it awakes to the early morning sun, or loves as they awaken each other, or even that reluctance to wake up from a deep sleep.
Example: Aubade to Autumn by Jez Farmer
Water-colour skies drift
over once golden fields
like a dream softly waking
in the hazy yellow of dawn
melting into the vibrant leaves
like falling ribbons of scarlet and gold
that carpet the earth
horse chestnuts in shining mahogany
challenge the boys to play
in the cracking echoes of a conker game
before the school bell calls
on an autumn day
nature presents her masterpiece
