“Landscape” was created following Artschwager’s visit to his childhood home of New Mexico and is one of a series of landscapes he created exploring the effects of pastels on different types of paper. Garish and ebullient the image is a hallucination as the artist looks back on the New Mexico of his childhood and where he spent his teenage years.
