Coffee and a Chat
Form: Free Verse

She’s sat on my desk
chitter-chattering
today she has a lot to say
like every day she wants to share her news
her blues
and all in between
as I say no, yes, uhhuh
and give her the pets
the pets she desires
a simple request
while chatting
as I drink my coffee
without typing as that would be rude
all she wants is the time
to share love her way
before sauntering off
chatting done
ready to face her day
and be Shadow
the cute ninja cat
