Inspired by Word of the Day
Definition: Schmatte – n. ragged garment, tattered clothing
Form: Bina
They called my name from the back
The Levi jeans with the button-fly
My first pair of jeans I thought I would fly
Now threadbare knees to hell and back
Years later and looking back at how time seems to fly

I am a freelance writer and poet and started writing after raising my two boys as a way of discovering just who Jez is. That is still very much an ongoing project but the journey so far has introduced me to many wonderful friends and fellow writers through an ever-growing love of poetry.

I know insults in Latin (misspent schooldays or what), but actual swearing – not sure it’s doable – hmm apparently we can. I will be keeping ‘perite’ for future use – lol
