For the Love of Iris
Form: Cerispring Sonnet
Beneath the ground she waits so long
through Winter's chilling grip
and I await her iris song.
She thirsts for words from Gardener's lip
to greet her anxious sprout-
emerging form her earthen slip.
as warming rays of Spring's first sun
awaken breath, new life's begun.
My blue iris shall blossom out
her golden kiss, a spark
to clear the heart of Winter's doubt.
Renewing signs erase the stark
of Winter's icy chill
And love will shine from in the dark

Rain, my pond had to be drained so it didn’t overflow 3 times. I cheat and have window boxes
