Inspired by and written for Weekend Writing Prompt – Thank you, Sammi

Form: Free Verse

Sun rise
sun set
the ceaseless motion of
one day into another
mundane but never the same
echoes of yesterday
reverberate in tomorrow’s dawn
seeds of tomorrow’s dreams
planted in yesterday’s thoughts
sun set
sun rise
life awakens in gentle golden light
misted by sleep
awareness needs coffee
invigorating the mind into daylight’s productivity
overactive imagination
beneath the twilight skies
recalling mistakes
forgetting achievements
self-doubt haunting a mug of hot chocolate
sun rising
sun setting
every twenty-four hours a chance to begin again
