Dead Poets and All That
Form: Free Verse
He stood at the door
and their eyes stared tears
one spoke
“O Captain! My Captain”
the thalassic tone
of a seafarer’s poem thus became
a tribute to a literary master
and to me a poet
a dear memory
of a comic genius, Robin
and I hear “Good Morning Vietnam”
Word Count: 50

I am a freelance writer and poet and started writing after raising my two boys as a way of discovering just who Jez is. That is still very much an ongoing project but the journey so far has introduced me to many wonderful friends and fellow writers through an ever-growing love of poetry.

While that was the first poem I had to memorize and its genesis I’ll long remember, the movie and Robin are my first thoughts nowadays. 🙂

That’s what movies do. I remember Whiman being a real struggle while I was doing A level, now it’s Robin
