Phil Collins is a drummer, singer, and songwriter. As well as a successful solo career he was also the drummer and lead singer of the rock band Genesis. Phil Collins played drums from the age of 5 and also completed drama school training, landing him roles as a child actor including, at age 13, the major role of the Artful Dodger in the West End musical “Oliver!”. He joined Genesis in 1970 as their drummer and became lead singer following the departure of Peter Gabriel. Phil Collins was inducted into the Modern Drummer Hall of Fame in 2012, and the Classic Drummer Hall of Fame in 2013
