I Walk Alone

Once more Lilith has turned me away
my time for death is at her command
not mine
‘go back’ she said
‘embrace the darkness within your soul’
upon this path I must walk
to be a man and walk alone
yet something died that night
the woman I never was
and I left her behind in the darkness
as I made my way into the light
alone
to be the man I have always been
and in the light, I can see
the love right in front of me
and the few who silently walked with me
