Title: Riders on the Storm
Taking their name from Aldous Huxley’s book ‘The Doors of Perception’, the Doors were an American rock band formed in 1965. Unique for their time, they are among the most controversial and influential bands of the 1960s. After the death of singer Jim Morrison, the band continued until finally disbanding in 1973.
‘Riders on the Storm’ is the second single from the Doors sixth album ‘LA Woman.’ Released in 1971 it charted in both the US, number 14, and UK, number 22. It is believed to be inspired by both ‘Ghost Riders in the Sky’ and the spree killer Billy Cook.
